In Forbidden we follow the lives of a girl who is becoming a women and of a boy who is running away from his past. Claire and Alec have an attraction that slowly grows. It isn't forced and in your face. Throughout the book we get to follow both Claire and Alec in each of their perspectives which I LOVE to read in a book. Claire's crush Neil, who is the school hottie, has some sudden interest in Claire and she has to choose between Alec and Neil.
Ever since Claire hit puberty, she has been having visions. They are unexplainable and it happens with skin to skin contact. Claire confides in her best friends Erica and Brian throughout this whole process and she notices that Alec isn't as ordinary either. The closer she gets to Alec the more she finds out about him but also the more she seems to care for him. Alec's godfather Vincent, is a watcher, someone basically to enforce the Fallen law. Vincent has been following a case for 16 years and has to go away for a week and leaves Alec in charge of finding the HalfBlood he is looking for.
Claire is the HalfBlood Vincent has been searching for and Alec cannot let anything happen to her. Alec must choose to stay with the girl he loves or to leave her behind and go back to the part of his life he was running from to keep her safe or stay with her and hope to not be exposed by Vincent. Forbidden is such a heartfelt YA book that will definitely grab you by the collar of your shirt and keep you read cover to cover.
If you love Angels mixed with Paranormal elements and a great love story to go with it, this is DEFINITELY your book to read. For me it will be marked as a must read!
